What is the difference between free verse and prose?

Blessings. Prose Poetry , or prosody, or poetic narrative, uses beats and tone to tell a story. Free verse uses more imagery, metaphor, similes and other poetic devices, but in a free form manner, devoid of meter, rhyme, pattern, etc. Poetic narrative reads more like a story with continuity and continuous flow, whereas free verse can be just about anything in any order, no fixed images, etc. Open verse, is similar to free verse but it has more structure and only lacks rhyme...but it differs from poetic narrative because it doesn't flow in a linear way
