Alcohol Free Rinse still burns?

Ok, so I have to provide a little background here. Last year I starting using listerine and whitening tooth paste...until about after 3 days my mouth burned real bad. It burned in the same spot where you get a sensastion when you eat something sour. I thought it was nothing until I ate lunch and the area under my cheeks puffed out like I had the mumps. After about 2 hours it went back down. Then I tried to eat again and it swelled back up with fluid...it was as if my salivary glands were burned shut or something. Anyway, yesterday I bought the alcohol free mouth rinse, thinking it wouldnt burn...but about 3 hours after using it i'm experiencing the same burning sensation. Does anyone have experience with something like this?
